Oil Montages

This year I've been using oil paint for the first time in many years. The inspiration came from a brief series of line and wash drawings I did in 2004, in which I drew the same person from a number of angles, with poses superimposed over each other. Most of these paintings were completed in a single session; asking the model to take a variety of standing and seated poses which I then painted over each other, allowing elements of each pose to gradually build and create the composition.
